The Andalusia Police Department is working with other law enforcement agencies in the county to collect relief supplies for Hurricane Laura victims.
Specifically, they are requesting water, non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, paper goods, personal hygiene products, toiletries, first aid supplies and snacks. The items can be dropped off at any police department in the county, or at the county jail.
The items will be delivered to police departments in affected areas.
Hurricane Laura made landfall near Cameron, La., as a Category 4 hurricane with 150 mph winds and creating a major storm surge out of the Gulf. As of Thursday afternoon, four deaths had been confirmed, and hundreds of thousands of people were without power.
