Dawson Kennedy was awarded a scholarship by the Andalusia High School Scholarship Foundation on the front steps of his alma mater Friday morning. Kennedy is part of the Andalusia High School Class of 2020. The scholarship, renewable for up to four years, is worth $16,000. Kennedy plans to use this scholarship at Auburn University, where he will study electrical engineering. The scholarship was awarded by Jim Krudop, the President of the AHS Foundation.
Krudop also informed Kennedy of an opportunity that is available to AHS Foundation scholarship recipients. This opportunity is a summer in Cambridge studying abroad. The Andalusia High School Scholarship Foundation accepts donations from board members and others to fund the scholarship and study abroad experience for AHS students. “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can receive college credit from Auburn, a wonderful experience, and a resume builder,” Krudop explains.
Kennedy’s parents, siblings, and grandparents were also in attendance for the acceptance of the scholarship.
