An Andalusia man is behind bars after biting a sheriff’s deputy.
Damon Howard a.k.a “Dollar Bill” was arrested Monday night at around 7:30 p.m., for three counts of violation of parole.
Howard fled his residence and was located hunkered down under an abandoned mobile home in Fuqua Trailer Park by the Covington County Search Canine team. Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman said during the course of arrest, Howard bit an officer.
Howard was transported to the Covington County Jail where he is being held with no bond.
“Running from law enforcement is never a good idea,” Turman said. “When a suspect runs, we will make every effort to apprehend them. Biting an officer is even a worse idea. It’s just plain nasty and uncalled for. I’m proud that our deputies caught Howard and brought him to justice.”
