The Pleasant Home Eagles couldn’t get much going as they fell to Elba Tigers 54-0 on Friday night in Elba.
“It was just vintage Elba,” Pleasant Home head coach Rick Mercer said. “They are a good football team.”
Mercer said that his team started the night well.
“I felt like we played them pretty tough in the first half,” Mercer said. “We had some opportunities that we just didn’t seize. We dropped a pick six and had some missed tackles.”
Mercer said the second half didn’t go well.
“It was 28-0 at halftime and then it was all downhill from there,” Mercer said. “We just let their big running backs slip through our fingers. We will pick ourselves up, dust off and get ready for Red Level. I think we are going to be all right.”
Pleasant Home will be at home next week against Red Level.
