The Andalusia City Council introduced its budget for the fiscal year 2020 totaling at $19.3 million.
The budget includes a 3 percent cost of living adjustment for city employees.
It also includes $2.9 million for long-term debt payments.
“You will recall from our most recent audit that the city decreased its long-term debt by $1.88 million in the 2018 fiscal year,” Mayor Earl Johnson said. “In the current quadrennium, the city has reduced its long-term debt by $4.2 million.”
There was also an increase over last year’s capital improvement allotment. This year, the proposed budget includes $1.18 million for its capital improvements account.
