MOVING THE RIGHT DIRECTION: Pleasant Home hopes to right ship against Elba

The Pleasant Home Eagles know they have their work cut out for them as they prepare to travel to Elba on Friday night to battle with the Tigers.
Pleasant Home enters the game with a 0-1 record after falling to Elberta in the first week of the season.
The Eagles lost that game 26-6.
Pleasant Home was off last week and hopes to get things going in the right direction as they prepare to face the Tigers.
Elba holds a 1-0 record against the Eagles and one last year’s meeting by a score of 28-14.
After falling to Daleville 38-28 in week zero, Elba rallied past Opp to move to 1-1 on the season.
Elba used late scoring to hold off the Opp Bobcats for a 36-34 win.
In Pete Harrison’s second year at Elba, and the Tigers second year moving down the Class 1A, Elba looks to make another strong playoff push.
This will be the first Class 1A, Region two game for Elba and Pleasant Home.
Pleasant Home will be looking to get back in the playoffs after missing the playoffs in 2018.
Pleasant Home went to the playoffs in Rick Mercer’s first year at the helm in 2017, but just missed a spot last year.
The 2017 playoff trip was the first time Pleasant Home had made the playoffs since 2012 in Cody McCain’s first season as the head coach.
Elba finished the year 8-3 and lost to Linden in the second round of the playoffs.
In 2018, Elba scored 401 points and allowed 215 points.
Through two games in 2019, Elba has scored 64 points, but has given up 72 points.
Elba and Pleasant Home will begin at 7 p.m., on Friday in Elba.
