County school board approves retirements, transfers

The Covington County Board of Education made several personnel changes yesterday at their regular meeting.

The following people have retired:

• Kendall Short Riley, as elementary teacher at Fleeta Junior High School.

• Susan D. Bondurant, as history teacher at Florala High School.

• Sherry P. Kelley, as elementary teacher at Pleasant Home School.

• Jerry Lance Davis Sr., as P.E. teacher at Pleasant Home School.

• Maria Wade Davis, as elementary school teacher at Pleasant Home School.

• Myra P. Fore, as elementary teacher at Red Level Elementary School.

• Melanie Carpenter, as preschool teacher at Red Level Elementary School.

• Karen Y. Barton, as an aide at Straughn Schools.

• Patricia Ann Oates, as reading coach at Straughn Elementary School.

• Juanita Gail Weaver, as bus driver at Straughn High School.

The following people resigned:

• Melisan Virginia Sullivan, as band director at Red Level High School.

• Barry Wood, as assistant principal at Straughn Elementary School and Straughn Middle School.

• Jarrod Wooten, as general social science teacher at Straughn High School.

The following people were transferred:

• John Dee Bell from band director at Florala High School to band director at Red Level High School.
