The annual Coterie Storybook Festival will feature special guests Super Why and Princess Presto from Alabama Public Television’s “Super Why.”
The event is set from 3 until 5 p.m. on Sat., April 6.
Coterie Vice President Destiny Smith said club members are very excited to welcome the carton stars to this year’s event.
Storybook Festival also will featured productions of five popular children’s books, including:
• “Pig the Pug,” performed by members of Coterie.
• “Pinkalicious,” performed by Debbie, Grace and Ginny
• “The Day the Crayons Quit,” performed by members of the Andalusia Full Gospel Tabernacle youth group.
• “Frog on a Log,” read by Judy Phillips
• “Sleepy the Goodnight Buddy,” performed by Coterie members Mindy and Destiny.
In addition, members of the Andalusia Pilot Club will present their Brain Minders skit, which teaches children about safety in general, and particularly about brain safety, like the importance of wearing a bicycle helmet.
Admission is free, and children also will have an opportunity to participate in arts and crafts projects.
There will be a charge for admission to the bounce house, for face painting, balloons and concessions.
This year’s flyers are varied and feature the winning work of a local contest.
Smith said the festival moved to the afternoon so as not to compete with opening day for youth baseball season.
“We want everyone to have a chance to join us,” she said.
