Straughn pushes past W.S Neal

The Straughn Tigers used big hits to knock off W.S Neal 9-3 on Monday in the first round of the Butch Youmans Spring Break Tournament in Opp.

W.S. Neal started strong in the field as they struck out the first three batters of the game.

The Tigers got on the board in the top of the second inning when Logan Cobb drove in Adam Anderson and Brady Hamrac.

Straughn went up 3-1 in the top of the third inning when Mason Turner drove in a run with a single.

W.S. Neal got one run back in the bottom of the third inning, but the Tigers escaped additional damage when Bryant Harper snagged a line drive at shortstop and tagged a runner for a double play.

W.S. Neal then tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Tigers broke the game wide open with a four-run fifth inning.

Anderson had a big two-out double that scored a run and Hamrac drove in two more runs with a triple.

Straughn added two more runs to pick up the win.
