A single-vehicle crash at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, March 2, has claimed the life of an Opp woman.

Derriunna Charlesa Gantt, 20, was killed when the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe she was operating left the roadway and struck a tree. Gantt, who was not using a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 84 near the 158 mile marker, approximately 6 miles west of Elba. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
