The Covington County Child Advocacy Center has launched its annual T-shirt sale, which raises funds and awareness.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April is time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect and also to promote the social and emotional wellbeing of children and families. The CAC sells shirts in advance, and encourages people to wear them on Fridays during the awareness month.

“Each year the Child Advocacy Center serves over 100 child victims of abuse and neglect in Covington County by providing a child-friendly facility where children can tell their story one time, providing free counseling services specialized for child victims of trauma, and connecting families to resources,” Kaci Perry, the executive director of the Child Advocacy Center said.

“We’re excited to release our 2019 Blue Ribbon Child Abuse Awareness T-shirt. Order yours today and help spread awareness of child abuse and continue to serve these precious children.”

This year’s shirts feature a quote from Christopher Robin in “Winnie the Pooh.” It says, “You are braver than you believe and smarter than you think.”

The Comfort Color shirts are $10 in children’s sizes and $20 in adult sizes. They are available in sizes from youth small to adult 3XL.

The deadline to order the shirts is March 1.
