The Covington County Emergency Management Agency is among the agencies participating in an infectious disease control exercise today in Florala.
The local EMA office announced this morning that the State of Florida is having an exercise involving transportation of a mock patient across the Florida State line, through Alabama, in route to a facility in Georgia where the Ebola Treatment Center is located.
“This Infectious Disease Network Exercise will involve many agencies from Florida and Alabama. Covington County EMA along with the Alabama Office of EMS and Alabama Department of Public Health are playing roles in this Exercise,” the statement said. ” Florida will be bringing a convoy of five vehicles that will stop in Florala, Alabama. They will simulate that they have arrived at Emory, Ga. and the exercise will end at that time.”
The exercises were expected to conclude at 10.
