Red Level Tigers fall to J.F. Shields

The Red Level Tigers battled to the wire, but saw their season come to an end on Thursday night in Georgiana after falling to J.F. Shields 51-48 in the second round of the Class 1A, Area 2 tournament.
Red Level struggled to get their offense going in the first period as J.F. Shields went up 16-6.
Joel Phillips had four points in the first period for the Tigers.
Red Level’s offense picked up the pace in the second period as Kade Green and Matt Coleman chipped in five points each.
Chance Russell added four points and Jacob Catrett was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
At halftime, J.F. Shields was up 30-22.
Red Level continued to battle back into the game in the third period.
Green added seven points in the third period to help the Tigers inch back into the game.
Coleman had six points as J.F. Shields was up 39-37 heading into the final frame.
The Tigers made another charge at J.F. Shields in the fourth period, but came up just short in the end.
Phillips had seven points in the final period for Red Level.
Phillips led the Tigers with 15 points.
Green finished the night with 14 points and Coleman tacked on 11 points.
