Traffic delays expected, project should begin this week

Wiregrass Construction Company is expected to begin the resurfacing of U.S. Highway 29 from Heath to the Crenshaw County line this week.

Officials with Wiregrass Construction Co. announced earlier this month the resurfacing work would begin between Jan. 24-28, 2019, and should be completed by the end of March or first of April weather permitting.

Company officials advised motorists to begin making plans for taking alternate routes as delays will occur during this project.

Signs will be posted in accordance to all regulations, construction workers will be present during the project helping to direct traffic and pilot vehicles will be utilized during the construction.

Officials urge all motorists and pedestrians to use extreme caution in this construction area while the project is underway and remind citizens to drive with vigilance and courtesy until the construction is complete.
