Tigers battle it out in overtime

In the first game of the day, the Straughn seventh grade team came away with 32-29 overtime win over Red Level in the county championship game in Florala.
Red Level got a 3-pointer from Collin Smith to start the game and took a 6-0 into the second period.
Both teams continued to battle and Red Level was on top 13-9 going into halftime.
Straughn cut into the lead in the third period with a big 3-pointer from Grant Barnes.
Red Level still had a 22-20 lead going into the fourth.
Straughn’s Parker Black caught fire in the fourth with two big 3-pointers to tie the game 29-29 and send it into overtime.
Kaden Wiggins picked up some points in overtime to give Straughn a 32-29 win.
“It’s a testament to their character the way they finished the game,” Straughn head coach Marshall McGlaun said. “Those kids are wonderful kids. They make my job very easy.”
