Straughn’s girls advanced to the Covington County Junior High basketball championship with a 21-1 win over Pleasant Home on Wednesday in Florala.

Ora Hall came out and banked one in to put Straughn up early, but scoring went cold for both teams following the early bucket.

The Lady Tigers picked up the pace in the second half to secure the victory.

“I would say that was our best game of the season,” Straughn head coach Stacy McLaurin said. “This was a complete team effort.”

The Lady Tigers will play Red Level at 5 p.m., today in Florala for the county championship.
