Eagles sweep New Brockton

The Pleasant Home Eagles picked up two big wins on Monday night against New Brockton in Pleasant Home.

GIRLS

PLEASANT HOME 56, NEW BROCKTON 26

Pleasant Home got things rolling with a huge 56-26 win over New Brockton.

There was nothing that New Brockton could do to slow down the Lady Eagles’ River Baldwin.

Baldwin opened the game with 15 points in the first period to give the Lady Eagles a 19-7 advantage.

In the second period, Amy Kate Bulger took control of the scoring for the Lady Eagles as she chipped in six points.

Hope Gunter, Daisy Cordle and Baldwin each had two points in the second period to give Pleasant Home a 32-14 lead going into halftime.

The Lady Eagles continued to add to their lead in the third period as they went up 47-21.

Baldwin had eight points in the period.

Pleasant Home added a few more points in the final period on their way to a 56-26 victory.

Baldwin led the Lady Eagles with 25 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks

Bulger finished the game with 17 points and seven assists.

The win moves the Lady Eagles to 3-0 on the season.

BOYS

PLEASANT HOME 67, NEW BROCKTON 48

In the final game of the evening, the Eagles picked up their first win of the year with a 67-48 win.

Both teams came out fighting and Pleasant Home went up 18-17 at the end of the first period.

Austin Kelley helped get the Eagles out front with eight points in the first period.

James Hawkins, Josh Ruth and Jacob Price had two points each in the first period.

Hawkins added five points in the second period, including a deep 3-pointer to help put the Eagles up 36-34 heading into halftime.

Scoring was at a premium in the third period with both defeneses stepping up.

Kelley hit 3-of-4 free throws in the period to help the Eagles take a 47-42 lead into the final period.

Kelly came out surging in the final period as he dropped 10 points to give the Eagles a 67-48 win.

Kelley led the Eagles with 23 points. Hawkins added 12 points and Kristopher Cook tacked on 11 points.
