The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles secured a spot in next week’s state tournament after pulling out two wins in Friday’s South Super Regional in Montgomery.

GAME ONE

PLEASANT HOME 25, LINDEN 8

Pleasant Home got off to a hot start at the super regional tournament with a 25-8 victory over the Linden Lady Patriots.

River Baldwin came storming out of the gate for the Lady Eagles to help them build an early lead.

Pleasant Home also got a solid game from Sarah Guilford, Amy Kate Bulger and Hope Gunter.

The Lady Eagles never let up as they pulled away for a 25-8 victory.

GAME TWO

PLEASANT HOME 25, LINDEN 4

In the second game of the series, Pleasant Home picked up right where they left off in the first game as the pulled away for a 25-4 victory.

Pleasant Home built a quick lead and then Guilford caught fire with a four-straight kills to push the lead up to 16-3.

Baldwin added a kill next and then another kill from Guilford gave the Lady Eagles an 18-3 lead.

Guilford had two more kills and then Baldwin ended the game with a kill to give the Lady Eagles a 25-4 victory.

GAME THREE

PLEASANT HOME 25, LINDEN 10

The Lady Eagles were hitting on all cylinders, as they knocked off Linden 25-10 in the second game of the series.

Bulger put the Lady Eagles on top 3-1 with a strong ace.

Baldwin and Guilford followed with big kills to go on top 5-1.

Bulger then tacked on another ace to increase the lead to 6-1.

Linden fought back into the game some, but a pair of aces from Gunter pushed the Pleasant Home lead up 23-9.

The Lady Eagles were able to hold off the Lady Patriots for a 25-10 victory.

The Lady Eagles then beat Heritage Christian later in day on Friday to earn a spot in 2018 State Championship tournament next week in Birmingham.

“I feel great,” Pleasant Home head coach Tony Wilson said about the way he felt about his team’s peformance. “We started off exactly how we wanted to. Our main thing is that we want to set the tone of the ball game early on. If we can stretch things out six or seven points and some breathing room, I feel good and it helps relax the girls. They seem to play off of that.”

Pleasant Home will play Brantley at 10 a.m., today to determine seeding at next week’s state tourney.
