REBECCA SEYMOUR BARTON

Mrs. Rebecca Seymour Barton, age 91, of Andalusia, passed away on Wed., Oct. 24, 2018, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Fri., Oct. 26, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ronald Davis officiating the service. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Patsy Barton, Joe Barton, and Tim and Pam Barton all of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jim Brown of Andalusia; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Eugene Barton.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Barton, David Barton, Ken Barton, Blaine Wilson, Tony Nall, and Jeff Seymour.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Comfort Care Hospice or the Bethany Cemetery Fund.

FREDERICK LAMAR LOCKLIER

Frederick Lamar Locklier passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2018, with his loving wife of 25 years, Janie Locklier, at his side. Fred had been battling dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Fred was one of six siblings born to Benjamin and Lena Mae (King) Locklier in Brooklyn, Ala., on Jan. 5, 1929. In high school he was known as Lamar or “Lock”. He was a two-time Andalusia High School Football Hall of Fame inductee listed as a team captain, quarterback and running back on the 1946 and 1947 teams.

Fred served honorably in the Korean War, earning three Bronze stars with the U.S. Army 198th FA Bn. After returning from the war, Fred returned to Andalusia and found a career as a commercial building superintendent. He built numerous banks and office buildings all over the southeastern United States and several in Andalusia.

Fred was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Lynn Locklier; four brothers, Earl, Jerome, Eugene and Bobby Locklier.

Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Janie Locklier; sister, Margaret Loper; Sons, Brant (Kay) Locklier, Tom (Salena) Locklier, Jim (Lisa) Locklier and Dale (Leigh) Locklier; five grandchildren, Adam Locklier, Kara Bowen, Julia Locklier, Anna Locklier and Elizabeth Locklier; two great-grandchildren, Abel and Alice Bowen; numerous nieces and nephews; and stepchildren, Robert (Lori) Hemler, Michelle (Keith) Wingo and Cece (John) Sinclair.

A memorial service is scheduled for Fri., Oct. 26, 2018, at the First Baptist Church, Andalusia, Pastor Kevin Wilburn officiating.

Friends and family will be received at 10 a.m., with services to begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Magnolia Cemetery with Military Honors at 12:30 p.m.
