The Andalusia Star-News plans to recognize area veterans in a big way for Veterans Day and needs readers’ help.

A special section honoring veterans will publish along with the The Star-News on Saturday, Nov. 10.

The section will be primarily comprised of feature-length profiles and photos of local veterans. Stories will also be posted at andalusiastarnews.com.

There is no cost to submit a veteran’s story.

Submissions must have a local connection. Veterans representing any of the following U.S. service branches — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard. Conflicts may include World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East, or others will be featured.

Please include biographical information about the veteran, including the veteran’s name, current address, town residing at time of service, military branch, highest rank, years in service, overseas deployments, photo from service and current photo.

Submissions must be received by Friday, Oct. 19. Submissions may be emailed to editor@andalusiastarnews.com, or mailed to Andalusia Star-News, P.O. Box 430, Andalusia, AL 36420.
