Lumber mills topic of Thursday meeting

The September meeting of the Covington Historical Society will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 27, at the Charles Dixon Room of the Andalusia Public Library. Glenn Powell is in charge of the program. The speaker,  retired Pensacola teacher Charles Booher, will speak on “Scrips and Tokens,” a “Show and Tell” presentation, featuring the lumber mills of Covington County including the Jackson Lumber Company and Horse Shoe Lumber Company. The public is invited to attend.
