The Grissett family tried to prove that they put the “fun” in dysfunctional at the Family Feud auditions in Atmore this past Sunday.
Samantha Rolling, P.J. Parrish, Alyssa Jones, James Grissett and Heather Grissett all caravanned to Atmore and were the last participants to audition.
“We were in a room with about 20 other families,” Rolling said. “And we had to wait all day because we were the last ones.”
Rolling said that they played a mock game against another family as the audition for the show.
“We were taped and everything,” Rolling said. “Unfortunately we did not win the game, because the questions were actually pretty hard, but we still had an amazing time.”
Since this was just an audition for the big show, the usual host Steve Harvey was not there.
“We didn’t get to meet Steve,” Rolling said. “So one of the executive producers of the show was the host.”
Despite losing in their audition game, Rolling still thinks that the Grissett family has a chance to make it to California.
“We had to make sure to do our best to get on the show,” Rolling said. “We didn’t win, but we sure were excited and definitely showed it.”
Rolling said that the best part of the experience was spending time with her family and getting to meet other families as well.
“We really had a lot of fun,” Rolling said. “It was a little scary, but getting to meet so many other people and hanging out with my own family was a great time.”
The Grissett family said that they will receive a letter in October detailing if they made it to the live taping or not.
