The Red Level Tigers (2-1, 2-0) look to keep their win streak alive as they prepare to take on the Kinston Bulldogs (0-3, 0-2) in a region battle on Friday in Red Level.
“We are in a situation right now that Red Level hasn’t been in a while,” Red Level head coach Kenny Skipper said. “Right now, we need two more region wins and we are in the playoffs so this is a big game for us.”
Skipper said that he expects his team to continue to play at the level they have been.
“As coaches, we expect a lot out of this team,” Skipper said. “That comes with winning and these kids understand that. We are treating this game like a playoff game for us.”
Even with the two-game win streak, Skipper said that the Tigers have areas that can be improved.
“We have to get better on offense,” Skipper said. “Our defense has pulled it out for us the past two weeks.”
Skipper said that Friday night is going to be a big game for the Tigers.
“The team is excited, the school is excited and the community is excited,” Skipper said. “This is a big game for us. Like most Friday nights, we have to be more physical than them up front. We have to cut down on special team mistakes and win the turnover battle. If we do all of that, we will be successful.”
Red Level holds a 14-7 lead in the series against Kinston, but the Bulldogs won 44-0 in 2017.
Kickoff between Red Level and Kinston is set for 7 p.m., Friday.
