DEBRA GIBSON
Debra Gibson was born Sep. 16, 1969, and passed away June 28, 2018.
A life celebration service for Gibson will be held Thu., July 5, at 6 p.m., at Through the Grace of God Ministries in Clanton, Ala.
Gibson lived in Brooklyn, Ala., for more than 20 years before moving to Clanton, Ala.. She was a caregiver. She loved helping everybody and never met a stranger. She always put others before herself and was one of the sweetest people you would meet. Debra was a hard-working, kind-hearted and dedicated woman. She was a volunteer firefighter in Brooklyn, Ala., for several years. She worked at the Power Pig radio station in Evergreen, Ala. She worked at a kennel caring for animals. She volunteered at the church called Through The Grace of God Ministries. Debra enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved animals and loved planting flowers. Debra loved God and her family more than anything. She had many friends that she considered family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be deeply missed by many.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Barbara Fowler; her brother, Kenneth Alexander; two daughters, Tiffany Gibson (Andalusia ) and Monica Odom (Ozark); two sons, Kent Gibson (Damascus, Ala.) and Jason Bearden (Berlin, Ala.); three grandchildren, Shiann Jones, Jayson Hughes and Natalie Bearden; and one very special friend, Anita Meadows Cannon.
Debra was an organ donor; she continued to live out her passion by helping others.
KATHERINE BOOTH FOSTER
Katherine Booth Foster of Andalusia died June 29, 2018, at VNA Hospice of Philadelphia.
Katie spent the last 10 months of her life in Lansdowne, Pa., at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Jim and Molly Olshefsky; their family lovingly cared for her in her battle with cancer.
Katie graduated from Hempfield High School and Shippensburg University.
She is survived by her husband, Shelton Foster; her parents, John and Barbara Booth of Lancaster; her brother, John, and his wife, Alexandra, of Castle Rock, Colo.; Jim and Molly Olshefsky of Lansdowne, Pa., and their adult children, Caleb and Kaylah Olshefsky of State College, Pa., and Monica Olshefsky of New York City.
A casual gathering of remembrance will be held at Harmony Baptist Church in the Christian Life Center on Sat., July 14, at 6 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served as we fellowship with some of Katie’s family who will be visiting from Pa.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Katie: Andalusia Area Humane Society or Harmony Baptist Church.
GLADYS M. KERSEY
Mrs. Gladys M. Kersey, age 91 of Evergreen passed away Mon., July 2, 2018, in the Andalusia Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Fri., July 6, 2018, at Cope Keahey Chapel with Bro. Ed Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery with Cope Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., Thu., July 5, 2018.
Survivors include her brothers, William Cecil Hardin of Molino Fla., an John Hardin of Cathleen, Ga.; nephews, Tommy (Sharmon) Hardin of Andalusia, Carry Hardin, Emory Hardin, Elton Hardin and Guy Brooks; nieces, Elizabeth Marie Hardin Waites, Patricia Hardin, Judy Edmonson, Dodie Matalock and Teressa Gordon.
Pallbearers will be Joey Jordan, Brian Martin, Dylan Davis, Jeff Palmer, Lamar Pate and Jared Johnson.
Mrs. Kersey is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas Hardin; brother, Otis Hardin; and sisters Dorothy Hardin and Vondale Hardin.
