Campers learn from coaches

LBWCC assistant coach Brandon Ware put on a successful camp on Friday morning at Crum Foshee Field.
“I thought it went great,” Ware said. “We had a good group of kids that hustled and worked hard. They had a great time and were just a really good group of kids.”
Ware said that throughout the course of the day the kids did a lot of learning.
“They got a little bit of everything,” Ware said. “We worked on hitting, pitching, base running and fielding. Hopefully, they all loved something and enjoyed the day.”
The camp had a strong turnout this year, Ware said.
“Every year it’s a little different, but this year we had a good number of kids,” Ware said. “I think we had 29 come out. They were about half older kids and half younger kids. They were able to get a lot of swings in and heard some different things from different coaches.”
The coaches that helped Ware put on the event were Tyler Dent (Andalusia High School), Josh Thomposon (Opp High School), Chad Mansmann (Marbury High School) and Chuck White (LBWCC).
“I couldn’t do this without the help of these coaches,” Ware said. “They do a really great job.”
