It rained a lot toward the end of May – or at least there was lots of rain in the forecast. But year-to-date rainfall totals for Covington County remain behind the same period last year.
The Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers Watershed Management Authority released the data this week.
The Choc-Pea Authority has recorded 25 inches of rain at Yellow River on Hwy. 84 compared to 30.88 inches of rain in the same period in 2017. In May, the rainfall there totaled 7.96 inches.
Choc-Pea also monitors rainfall at Yellow River on Hwy. 55. Year to date, the agency has recorded 22.84 inches of rain on Hwy. 55, compared to 24.16 inches of rain in the same period of 2017. In May, the rainfall there totaled 5.08 inches compared to 6.12 inches in May of 2017.
