The Pleasant Home Eagles (10-9) earned the Class 1A, Area 3 championship and will host Kinston today for the first round of the state playoffs.

After starting off the year 1-4, Pleasant Home fought back in area play to earn home-field advantage in the opening round.

Pleasant Home picked up the pace at the end of the year as they won their final four games of the year.

The Eagles will face a familiar foe in the opening round of the Class 1A state playoffs.

Pleasant Home and Kinston played twice during the regular season.

Pleasant Home won the first game of the series 9-2 in Kinston.

The Bulldogs got the best of the Eagles a few days later when they picked up a 8-7 victory in Pleasant Home.

Game one of the playoff series will begin today at 4 p.m.

The second game of the series will be played at 6:30 p.m.

If necessary, game three would be Friday at 4 p.m.
