The Covington County Board of Education on Tuesday extended Superintendent Shannon Driver’s contract for three years.
“I am so thankful for the board and everything they do to support the schools,” he said. “I look forward to serving for another three years.”
Board members said the superintendent’s contract calls for him to get a raise only if teachers do.
Driver was serving as principal of Straughn High School when he was hired as superintendent in May 2013.
He replaced then-Superintendent Terry Holley, who retired. Shannon Driver’s father, the late Ronnie Driver, held the job until his retirement in 2006.
