The Opp Lady Bobcats’ junior varsity softball team swept their way through the Ariton Round Robin Tournament on Monday in Ariton.

EUFAULA 2

In the opening game of the tournament, the Lady Bobcats topped Eufaula 5-2.

The Lady Bobcats came storming out of the gate and scored all five runs in the opening frame.

Ashlynn Wyatt went 1-for-2 with a single, a run scored and two RBI.

Raelynn Hornsby went 1-for-2 with a single, a stolen base and one RBI.

Riley Walker picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle after allowing just one hit, one run and striking out three batters in the three innings of work.

OPP 10,

ARITON 2

The Lady Bobcats continued to roll in the second game of the tournament as they knocked off the host team 10-2.

After winning the first game on the mound, Walker led the way at the plate in game two going 1-for-1 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored.

Caroline Courson went 1-for-1 with a single, a stolen base, a walk, one RBI and one scored run.

McKinley Hill finished the game 1-for-1 with a single and two RBI.

Courson picked up the win going two innings and allowing no runs to score. Courson gave up just one hit and stuck out three batters.

WICKSBURG 0

The Lady Bobcats picked up their third-straight win of the tournament after shutting out the Wicksburg 2-0.

Walker dazzled in the pitcher’s circle as she stuck out five batters and allowed no hits in four innings of work.

Courson led the way at the plate going 1-for-2 with a single and one RBI.

Emily Mitchell went 1-for-1 with a single and a run scored.

OPP 10,

DALE COUNTY 1

The Lady Bobcats completed tournament with 10-1 victory over Dale County to finish the tournament undefeated.

Mitchell drove in three runs and scored twice while going 1-for-3 in the win.

Vanessa Stoudemire went 1-for-2 and drove in two runs.

Courson had two RBI and scored twice while going 1-for-3.

Anna Beth Kendrick led the way in the pitcher’s circle as she allowed just one run on two hits and struck out for batters.

There was no championship game, but the Lady Bobcats were the only team to go 4-0 in the tournament.
