Terry Craig, who previously announced that he was a candidate for sheriff, said Thursday he will not seek the office.

“The outpouring of love and support that my family and I have received has been completely humbling. Due to unforeseen medical issues within my family, I am very saddened to say that I must withdraw from the race.”

Craig announced in November he planned to seek the office. He has owned and operated a plumbing and electrical business in Andalusia for more than 39 years.

He has been actively campaigning and has signs at several locations in the county.
