EAGLES SOAR TO VICTORY: Pleasant Home handles business against Jay

The Pleasant Home Eagles rallied after a slow start to knock off Jay High School 53-33 on Thursday night in Pleasant Home.
Jay got things started strong in the opening period and quickly took a 9-0 lead.
Pleasant Home got on the board with 1:50 left in the opening period with two free throws from Robert Scott.
Scott closed out the period with a pair of 3-pointers, but Jay was up 12-8 at the end of the first period.
Opening up the second period, Scott caught fire as he buried three-straight 3-pointers to put the Eagles up 17-14.
The Eagles continued to the scoring with buckets from Mason Kelley, Austin Kelley and Tyler Myrick.
Scott hit another 3-pointer in the second period to give Pleasant Home a 26-19 lead at halftime.
Nick Woods opened up the third period with back-to-back baskets to put the Eagles on top 30-19.
At the end off the third period, Pleasant Home was on top 47-27.
Scott led the Eagles with 28 points in the win.
“After the first five minutes, we finally settled down and started to play,” Pleasant Home head coach Troy Turman said. “We are finally figuring out what makes us tick and go. Since the Red Level tournament we have started to figure that out. Now, we are working on becoming more consistent. We are a good team and I think that our best ball is still in front of us. We are starting to look like a hungry team. We just have to keep working.”
Pleasant Home also won the B-team contest as a last second shot lifted the Eagles to a 34-32 win.
Pleasant Home returns to action tonight as the host the Florala Wildcats for an area battle.
