EAGLES SWEEP BOBCATS: Pleasant Home blows out Opp in hardwood action

The Pleasant Home Eagles turned up the intensity as they swept the Opp Bobcats on Monday night in Pleasant Home.
GIRLS
PLEASANT HOME 72, OPP 10
In varsity girls action, the Lady Eagles stormed out of the gate and cruised to a 72-10 victory.
Hope Gunter connected on a pair of 3-pointers and Amy Kate Bulger added four points in the opening frame to get the Eagles off to a 20-4 lead at the end of the first period.
Gunter continued to thrive and added six more points in the second period.
In the fourth period, Kallie Grace Turman got six points to help lead the Lady Eagles to a 72-10 victory.
“I really wasn’t sure what to expect without River (Baldwin) on the floor,” Pleasant Home head coach Jerry Davis said. “I was pleasantly surprised and we got a lot of work tonight from the younger girls.”
BOYS
PLEASANT HOME 69, OPP 35
In the final game of the evening, the Eagles came out hot and held off the Bobcats for a 69-35 victory.
Robert Scott caught fire in the second quarter as he buried four-consecutive 3-pointers to give the Eagles a 34-17 halftime lead.
Opp got a steal and big fast-break dunk from Erik Matthews to start the fourth, but the Bobcats couldn’t get back into the game.
Scott led the Eagles with 33 points.
Nic Woods added 14 points and Tyler Myrick finished with 12 points.
Matthews led the Bobcats will 11 points in the lose.
