A ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the current Covington County Courthouse is set for 10 a.m. on Tues., Dec. 19.

Andalusia native and U.S. District Judge Harold Albritton will be the guest speaker.

Circuit Judge Ben Bowden said organizers are especially encouraging former courthouse employees, including anyone who practiced law in the courtrooms, to attend. The public is invited.

A photographic display of the courthouse through the years is also planned. On Tuesday, the Covington County Commission committed $1,500 to that portion of the celebration.
