GEORGIA LOU SPIVEY

Mrs. Georgia Lou Spivey, age 91, of Andalusia, passed away on Sat., Oct. 28, 2017, at Andalusia Health.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Mon., Oct. 30, 2017, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was from 12-2 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, L.D. Spivey of Andalusia; daughter, Lynn Folmar of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip Wayne and Barbara Spivey, Steven Ray and Rita Spivey, and David Lawrence and Deborah Spivey all of Andalusia; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Flossie Patterson.

Pallbearers were her grandchildren.

FAYE TAYLOR STOKES

Mrs. Faye Taylor Stokes, age 77, of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., Oct. 29, 2017, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

Mrs. Stokes was born Mary Faye Taylor on Jan. 17, 1940, to Arnold and Nora Barrow Taylor. She graduated from Straughn High School in 1958. Faye married Max M. Stokes on Aug. 8, 1958. During the early years of their marriage, Max was in the Army, so Faye and Max traveled and lived abroad. She has expressed many times how much they enjoyed those years. After having children, they decided to return to Andalusia. Faye would eventually go to work at Andalusia Auto Parts where she worked for 27 years before retiring.

A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tues., Oct. 31, 2017, in Cedar Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with Brother Eddie Boggess officiating. Visitation was from 5:30-8 p.m. on Monday evening at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Cindy Martin of Andalusia and Karen and Haywood McGuire of Wetumpka; granddaughters, Crissy (Chris) Hughes, Courtney (Aaron) Hudson, Cari Martin (Keith Nelson), and Meredith McGuire; grandson, Max McGuire; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jackson, Carter, Ian, and Bella Grace; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Farrell Whatley; sisters-in-law, Mildred Stokes and Arlene Reynolds; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Max M. Stokes, parents, Arnold and Nora Barrow Taylor, and sister, Maxine Whitehurst.

ESKER THOMASSON

Mr. Esker E. Thomasson, 87, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Oct. 27, 2017, at his residence.

Mr. Thomasson was born in Andalusia on March 28, 1930 to Charlie Esker and Runie Hare Thomasson. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served his country overseas in Germany during the time of the Korean Conflict. He married Ann Stokes on Aug. 31, 1950, and the two lived happily together for 67 years. Both Esker and Ann have been long time faithful members of the Cedar Grove Church of Christ. Mr. Esker served the congregation in several roles over the years, such as song leader, bible class teacher, a deacon, and for almost 50 years served as one of the church elders. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after giving 32 years of service.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 31, 2017, at Cedar Grove Church of Christ with Minister Eddie Boggess officiating, along with Curtis Thomasson giving the eulogy. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:30-8 p.m. on Mon., Oct. 30, 2017, at Foreman Funeral Home, as well as at the church 30 minutes prior to services. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Stokes Thomasson of Andalusia; one son and daughter-in-law, Roddy and Mary Thomasson of Andalusia; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Billy Futrell of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren, Beth Thomasson, Ashlee (Brandon) Hill, Dene’ (Nathan) Canter, Kerry (Anna) Thomasson, Kelly (Lexie) Futrell, Jason (Brittney) Thomasson; six great grandchildren, Julie Canter, Lillee Hill, Weston Canter, Myles Hill, Elijah Canter, Adleigh Futrell, Hunter Thomasson; and sister-in-law, Audie Mae Thomasson of Andalusia.

He is preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Wayne, as well as his parents; Charlie and Runie H. Thomasson; and brother, Charles Thomasson.

Pallbearers will be Kerry Thomasson, Kelly Futrell, Jason Thomasson, Greg Bryant, Eddie Lindsey, and Mac Bracewell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Cedar Grove Church of Christ, along with Brandon Hill, Billy Futrell, Roy Wilson, Chris Wilson, and Rocky Thomasson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Dora Children’s Home and Bible School, Mt. Dora, Fla.

WILLIAM EDWARD DUNCAN

William Edward Duncan, age 77 of Honoraville, passed away Oct. 28, 2017, at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.

A graveside service was held on Mon., Oct. 30, 2017, at Magnolia Cemetery at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Allen Stephenson officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.

Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Fannie Mae Duncan.

Edward was a devoted husband to his wife, Gwendolyn (Wells) Duncan for 59 years. He was a loving father to his daughter, Rita Wiggins (Kip) of Andalusia; and to his grandsons, Joshua K. Wiggins of Orange Beach, and Jeremy D. Wiggins (Emily) of Fairhope.

Pallbearers include Joshua K. Wiggins, Jeremy D. Wiggins, David Walker, Kenny Morgan, Jeff Norris and Wade Wiggins.
