The Florala Wildcats put up a strong fight, but fell 55-21 to Brantley on Friday night in Brantley.
“That’s one of the best teams that we have played all year,” Florala head coach Scott Mason said. “They are a total complete team that has speed and plays very physical.”
Mason said his team just wasn’t able to match up with the size and speed of the Bulldog athletes.
“This was men playing against boys,” Mason said. “We have two seniors, just a few juniors and the rest are sophomores and freshman. This is growing pains right now. This is what happens when a program has been down. We are going to get there, but we still have a lot of work.”
The Wildcats continue to improve with each passing day, Mason said.
“One thing for sure, these kids come out here every day with the mind set of improving,” Mason said. “I’m so proud of the commitment these kids have put into our program.”
Wildcat quarterback Jacob Hammac had a pair of touchdown passes to Rashaad Coleman to Anthone Stone.
Logan West also added a rushing touchdown for the Wildcats.
Next week, the Wildcats travel to Kinston for a big region contest.
“We have a big one coming up next week,” Mason said. “The kids are looking forward to that game.”
