Crenshaw County Schools will remain closed today, Wed., Oct. 4, school officials announced late Tuesday.

Tuesday classes were cancelled late Monday, and school officials cited the need for safety in light of a “potential threat to a school.”

On Tuesday, the system announced they were working closely with federal, state, and local authorities in addressing the threat, and the work was not finished. Therefore, classes are cancelled today, too, the announcement said.

“We must allow authorities additional time to continue their investigation and give us the necessary information needed to return to normal school operations in our school system,” the statement said.

LBW Community College also cancelled classes on its Luverne campus yesterday and today.
