The Pleasant Home Eagles look for a big season with new head coach Richard Mercer.

Pleasant Home will start will a preseason game against county rival Red Level on Aug. 25 to get prepared for the upcoming season.

On Sept. 1, Pleasant Home will open up the season at home when they take on the Fruitdale Pirates.

Pleasant Home and Fruitdale met up last year for the first time in the regular season with Pleasant Home coming away with a 21-16 victory.

The Eagles enter Class 1A, Region 2 play on Sept. 8 when they travel to McKenzie to take on the Tigers.

McKenzie holds a 9-4 record in the series and has won the previous five match ups, including a 56-33 win last season.

Pleasant Home stays on the road and in region play on Sept. 15 when they travel to Brantley for a match with the Bulldogs.

Brantley owns a 16-1 record versus Pleasant Home and has won every contest since 2002, including a 57-6 victory last year.

Pleasant Home remains on the road and in region play for the third-straight week when they take on Houston County on Sept. 22.

Houston County holds a 2-1 record against Pleasant Home, and won last year’s contest 34-14.

On Sept. 29, the Eagles return home for a non-region game against McIntosh. This will be the Eagles “Coming Home” game.

Last season, was the first time that McIntosh and Pleasant Home met on the football field, with the Eagles coming away with a 62-32 victory.

The Eagles will stay at home on Oct. 6 when they take on the Florala Wildcats in a region contest.

Pleasant Home holds an 11-6 record against Florala, including a 59-20 win last year.

On Oct. 13, the Eagles hit the road to take on Kinston in a region game.

Pleasant Home holds a 9-8 record in the series and won last year’s game 20-14.

The Eagles will host Georgiana for a region game on Oct. 20.

Georgiana has 4-3 record in the series and has won the past four games against Pleasant Home.

The Eagles will wrap up region play at home on Oct. 27 when they take on Red Level.

Pleasant Home holds a 5-4 record against the Tigers in the series and won last year’s contest 45-40.

On Nov. 3, the Eagles close out the regular season with a road game against Zion Chapel.

Zion Chapel holds a 6-5 series lead against Pleasant Home, but the Eagles came away with a 34-7 victory in last year’s contest.
