The Covington County 8U softball All-Stars battled through a back-and-fourth affair on the way to defeating Pierre Part 14-13 Thursday in the Regional semifinals in Houma, La.

In the bottom of the first inning, County broke through to take a 3-1 lead.

Pierre Part then tied the game 3-3 after two innings of play.

The game continued to go back-and-forth and Pierre Part then took a 6-4 lead.

County battled back and went on top 10-6 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

In the top of the fifth, Pierre Part took an 11-10 lead.

County came right back and took a 12-11 lead before Pierre Part went back on top.

Trailing 13-12 heading into the final frame, the County All-Stars went to work and plated a pair of runs to claim the victory.

The County All-Stars will play in the region championship today at noon.
