Wilson Henry “Bud” Parker
Mr. Wilson Henry “Bud” Parker, age 88, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., June 15, 2017 at the Andalusia Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sat., June 17, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hank Roberts and Brother Lee Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. A visitation was held Friday at Foreman Funeral Home.
Mr. Parker, or Bud as he was known, helped to organize the Andalusia Pee Wee Football league in the late 1960s and early 70s. He also worked with Little League baseball and softball during this time. His passion was to work with young people and this was also evidenced by the Sunday School classes he taught to the youth of his church. Bud was a faithful servant of God in church, taking an active role in positions of leadership and decision making., even singing in the church choir. He had a heart for helping those in need and volunteered his time and relents in many places.
Mr. Parker was an entrepreneur, starting his own businesses, Andalusia Roofing Company in 1959 and Parker Metal Construction in 1978. Mr. Parker enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle Parker of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerome and Martha Parker of Andalusia, Jeffery Parker of Troy, and Joe and Candy Parker of Andalusia; eight grandchildren, Jonathan (Misty) Parker, Nicole (Kerry) Varner, Will Parker, Zach Parker, Ben Parker, West Parker, Ashli Parker, and Jeff Parker, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Jenna Parker, Jacob Parker, Justin Varner, and Rhett Varner; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Wanda Parker of Andalusia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Boots Parker of Andalusia, Carolyn Boggan of Andalusia, and Betty and Paul Solice of Louisiana; and two sisters-in-law, Nadine Parker of Andalusia and Annette Parker of Stockton, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Parker, Will Parker, Zach Parker, Ben Parker, West Parker, Jeff Parker, Jr., and Kerry Varner. Honorary pallbearers will include Gillis Jones, Lee Kirkland, Randel Mikel, and John Woodham.

Eleanor Mae Gaines
Mrs. Eleanor Mae Gaines, age 87 of Andalusia passed away Fri., June 16, 2017, at her residence.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wed., June 21, 2017, at Keahey Funeral Home in Andalusia. Funeral services will be held Thus., June 22, 2017, at Keahey Chapel. The Rev. Billy Boles will officiate. Interment will follow in Stone Lake Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Wiggins, Rick Wunsh, Rob Leddon, and Robert Mitchell.
Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include her son, Don Gaines of Andalusia; daughters, Sally Gaines (Kirk Gromoll) of Andalusia, and Linda Gaines of Florida; sisters, Betty Levine of Baltimoreand Sandra Lee Regan of New York; grandchildren, Richard (Mylinda) Ayers, Amanda Ayers, Angela Draycott, Rob (Kerry) Leddon, Jimmy (Tanya) Leddon, and Alan Joseph (Bekki) Leddon. 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gaines was preceded in death by her husband, Lonzie Gaines in 2015; sisters, Alma, Margaret, and Beatrice; and brothers, John Litten, Virginia, and Pat.
Johnnye C. Vise
Mrs. Johnnye C. Vise, age 96 of Andalusia, formerly of Homer, La., passed away Fri., June 16, 2017, in the Andalusia Manor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Pirkle Vise; a son, Stephen Eugene Vise; and grandson-in-law, Johnny Wayne Powell.
The family will receive friends Sun., June 18, 2017, beginning at 5 p.m. until time for the funeral service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Keahey Chapel. The Rev. Fred J. Kelley will officiate. The graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Tues., June 20, 2017, at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, La. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, William Pirkle Vise.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Bill) Godwin of Andalusia; daughter-in-law, Ann Vise of Shreveport, La.; special niece, Peggy Causey of Haughton, La; grandchildren, Steve (Debbie) Godwin, Leigh (Eugene) Powell, Kristi Powell, Dr. Gabrielle (John) Baldwin, Allison (Todd) Finch, and Emily (Yource) McBryde; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Taylor, and Cassidy Godwin, Haydn (Jamey) Greene, Garrett (Abigail) Powell, Ethan Powell, Chelsea (Mason) Farley, Jared (Hannah) Powell, Kaleb Powell, River and Hunter Baldwin, Benjamin and Claire Finch, Findley and Harlan McBryde; and great-great grandchildren, Carson and Colden Powell, Cooper Greene, and Eva Lynn Powell.
Mrs. Vise was an avid reader and passed along her love of crosswood puzzles to her grandchildren. Her greatest love was faithfully supporting all her great grandchildren at their sporting events.
Bobbie Glenda Thornton
Mrs. Bobbie Glenda Thornton, age 82, of Andalusia passed away June 15, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sun., June 18, 2017, at Cope Keahey Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Cleveland Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sepulga Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynne Ostrom of Andalusia; grandchildren; William Russell Kendrick, Reagan Lee (Jody) Kendrick, James Robert Ostrom, Glenda Rebecca (Brandy) Ostrom, Jared Wade (Jessica) Turner, Reagan Jade Watson and William Earnest (Samantha);
And 12 great-grandchildren;
