Andalusia attorney Bill Alverson was celebrating with champagne Friday night after learning that Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of Insatiable, a drama based on the life of a Southern attorney and beauty pageant coach.

Alverson, who is also a pageant coach, was the inspiration for the story line.

The pilot episode for Insatiable was developed for The CW earlier this year, and most of it was filmed in Atlanta. According to Deadline Hollywood, the show narrowly missed being picked up by The CW, but will now become a Netflix original series.

“I just found out today,” Alverson said. “I knew for sure when it was released to the media.”

The Netflix series will include the cast used in the pilot episode made for The CW, he said.

“Thirteen episodes is a full season,” Alverson, who was listed as a producer for Insatiable, said.

A timeline for development and release has not been announced, but Alverson thinks the series will be in the fall line-up.

“The main character is not me, and the story is not my life,” he said. “But it’s loosely based on me and my personality.”

He even had a cameo role in the first episode.

Deadline Hollywood called Insatiable “darkly comedic and quirky.”

Dallas Roberts is cast in the lead role. He previously had a recurring role on CBS’ The Good Wife and played Milton Mamet on AMC’s The Walking Dead. He also has a recurring role in the upcoming season of ABC’s American Crime. He also had a role in Dallas Buyers Club.

In Insatiable, Roberts will be a disgraced, dissatisfied civil lawyer-turned-pageant coach who takes on a vengeful, bullied teen (played by Debby Ryan) as his client. Sarah Colonna also stars

Alverson, whose reality series Coach Charming was filmed in Andalusia, worked with writer Lauren Gussis of Ryan Segrest Productions, to develop the new show.
