Rising Andalusia High School senior Zaria Jones is trying to earn a scholarship and do good work at the same time.

Jones is organizing an American Red Cross blood drive for this Thurs., June 15, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Andalusia. The drive is set from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The Red Cross offers students the opportunity to earn a scholarship by coordinating blood drives. Jones needs 60 donors for this drive.

Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-Red Cross, or by visiting www.redcrossblood.org, entering the 36420 zip code and choosing “Christ the King.

Walk-in donors also are welcome. The church is located on Sanford Road.
