Pleasant Home wins area crown

The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles knocked off McKenzie and Red Level on their way to the Class 1A, Area 3 championship on Tuesday in Pleasant Home.
PLEASANT HOME 17, MCKENZIE 0
After McKenzie topped Red Level to start the tourney, the Lady Eagles hammered McKenzie 17-0 for a spot in the area championship game.
The Lady Eagles got walk from Hope Gunter to start the contest and then she quickly stole second base.
Abby Walker put the Lady Eagles on top when she drove in Gunter with a single to left field.
The flood gate then opened up as the Lady Eagles rolled out to 15-0 lead heading into the second inning.
Ava Bailey picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle going three innings and allowing just two hits.
Walker finished the game 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored.
Rae Rae Coleman and Bella Worley drove in two runs each for the Lady Eagles.
PLEASANT HOME 10, RED LEVEL 0
In the area championship game, the Lady Eagles used strong pitching and big hits to shut down Red Level 10-0.
Walker got things started for the Lady Eagles with a 2-out tripe in the top of the first inning and then she came around to score on an error.
In the top the third inning, Coleman ripped a double to center that allowed Sissy Martin to come around to score.
The Lady Eagles got a big hit from Tami Hilson in the top of the fourth inning when she drove in two runs with a double to right field.
A few batters later, Taylor McGhee roped a double down the right field line score Amy Bulger and Coleman for a 9-0 Pleasant Home lead.
Coleman led the way for the Lady Eagles going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored.
Hilson finished the game 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored.
