Eagles push past Hillcrest

The Pleasant Home Eagles overcame an early Hillcrest run to knock off the Tigers 3-2 at home on Tuesday for Senior Night.
Joe Gibbs got things started on the mound for the Eagles with three-straight strikeouts to kick the game off.
The Eagles put the bat on the ball in the bottom of the first inning, but were unable to produce a hit.
After issuing a walk, Gibbs retired the Tigers in the top of the second with three more strikeouts.
Parker Lloyd was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the second inning for the Eagles’ first base runner of the game, but a fly out ended the inning.
Gibbs continued the strong work on the mound with two more strikeouts in the top of the third inning.
Gibbs lost his command in the top of the fourth inning as he loaded the bases with three-straight walks.
A walk and an error put the Tigers on top 2-0.
The Eagles caught a break in the bottom of the fourth inning when Lloyd reached first on a dropped third strike.
D Bradley was then hit by a pitch, and the Eagles loaded the bases with a single from Brennan Douglas.
An error from the Hillcrest pitcher then allowed two runs to score for the Eagles.
Aaron Warthen drove in Walt Weaver with a single in the bottom of the fifth to give the Eagles a 3-2 victory.
