Agents with the 22nd Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and the Covington County Incident Response Team on Thursday served a search warrant that put one mane behind bars and concluded a six-month investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in the Andalusia area.

George Pichon III, 310 Pugh Street in Andalusia, was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, and one count each of possession of a controlled Ssubstance with the intent to deliver, possession of marijuana II, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held at the Covington County Jail under a $710,500.00 bond.

During the search, agents seized more than 25 grams of ice methamphetamine, a couple grams of marijuana, a large amount of money in multiple denominations, and drug paraphernalia including several glass smoking devices, grinders, and plastic bags.

Officers from Andalusia Police Department, Opp Police Department and the Covington County Sheriff’s Office comprise the incident response team.

“Through the diligent work of the Drug Task Force, another drug dealer is off the streets,” Sheriff Dennis Meeks said. “Sometimes it takes a little while to secure the evidence that’s needed to make an arrest such as this one, with this investigation being six months. The Drug Task Force is still alive and well in Covington County. Drug Dealers – we’re coming after you.”
