Saints split series with Faulkner

The LBWCC Saints picked up a win in game one on Friday, but fell in the second game to split the series with Faulkner in Montgomery.

FAULKNER 2
In the opening game of the series, the Saints used a big fourth inning to knock off Faulkner 6-2.
Harrison Morris singled with one out to get things started for the Saints in the top of the first inning.
Morris moved up to second on passed ball and then came around to score on single to center from Gunner Hendrix.
Faulkner evened the scored up with a run-scoring single with two outs in the bottom of the first inning.
In the bottom of the third inning, a two-out error by the Saints was followed by a double that put Faulkner on top 2-1.
Tyler Sharp reached on an error to start the top of the fourth inning for the Saints.
Playing small ball, Ko Powell pushed a bunt single down the third base line and moved Sharp to third.
Matt Jones then tied the game up with a line drive single to center.
The Saints loaded up the bases after Morris was hit by a pitch.
Hendrix then picked up his second RBI of the game with single to right field to give the Saints a 3-2 lead.
Matthew Christian followed with a line drive single to left that allowed Jones to score.
A sacrifice fly ball to right off the bat of Chauncey Callier allowed Morris to score.
Trey McMillian then drove in Hendrix with a sacrifice fly to center to put the Saints up 6-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning.
Garrett Hollinghead got the win on the mound for the Saints as he threw a complete game while striking out three batters and giving up just one earned run.

LBWCC 7
In the final game of the day, both teams battled in the back-and-forth affair before Faulkner was able to come away with an 8-7 victory over the Saints.
LBWCC and Faulkner will be back in action at 1 p.m., Sunday in Andalusia.
