Two fundraisers are planned for the widower of Donna Day, who died unexpectedly last summer after a routine surgical procedure.

Sherry Beasley said even though her sister-in-law believed she had insurance coverage, her insurance company is now saying she had a pre-existing condition.

“The insurance company is refusing to pay,” Beasley said. “Se we are trying to help my brother, Frankie, with all of her burial expenses.”

On Tues., March 21, between 6 and 8 p.m., Zaxby’s will donate 20 percent of its proceeds to the family, Beasley said.

“All you have to do is mention Donna’s Day when you order,” Beasley said.

In addition, the Day family will be one of the beneficiaries of the 10th annual Caitie’s Army Poker Run, set for Sat., April 22.

The Poker Run will begin at 9 a.m. at the Red Level VFW Post #4388. The Poker Run also will include door prizes, an auction, and lunch. Punkin Watson also will be a beneficiary of this event.
