Just when you thought South Alabama had escaped winter, here come cooler temperatures again.

As east coast residents brace for a Nor’easter, Accuweather.com predicts temperatures will be held 10 to 20 degrees below normal southward to Tampa and Orlando.

Wednesday could be the coolest day for Jacksonville, Fla., since late January.

Midweek will feel more like the dead of winter with Nashville; Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; Birmingham, Alabama; and Jacksonville, Florida, among the many communities that will challenge record lows.

The National Weather Service forecast shows high in the 50s today and tomorrow, with lows dipping into the 30s for the next three nights. Wednesday night will be the coldest, when temperatures are expected to be as low as 31 degrees.
