Highland Home grabbed an early lead and cruised to a 20-4 win over the Red Level Tigers on Tuesday night in Red Level.

“They are a good team, but for as much focus as we had last night, it just wasn’t there tonight,” Red Level head coach Todd Smith said. “When you have as many errors in the field as we had tonight, you can’t expect to beat a good team like Highland Home. That’s what I was the most disappointed in tonight. I thought our pitchers did an OK job, but our defense has to give them a chance.”

After falling behind 6-0 in the top of the first inning, the Tigers responded with an RBI single from Jacob Dorman to get things started for Red Level.

Chance Russell then came around to score and Austin Hudson drove in Dorman on a ground out to cut the Flying Squadron lead down to 6-3.

“We have to do a better job on defenses,” Smith said. “Those kinds of errors are what cost you games, but we will get back after it tomorrow and do a lot of work on fielding the ball. We are going to get better, but we are going to have to have some more guys step up and be leaders for this team.”
