Police identify Andalusia man killed in Coffee County Monday

The Elba Police Department has released the identity of an Andalusia man who died in Coffee County shooting on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Nicholas “Tyler” Bolling, 27, of Andalusia.

According to a release from that department, Elba Police responded to the scene of a shooting at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 East and County Road 501.just after 4 p.m. Officers found that a male subject had sustained a single gunshot wound.
Elba Police Chief Freddy Hanchey said the subject’s coworkers were performing CPR on him when police officers and emergency medical responders from Coffee County EMS arrived. The emergency responders took over the CPR efforts at that time.
Coffee County EMS transported Bolling to Medical Center Enterprise where a short time later he was pronounced dead.

Hanchey said the investigation continues into the fatal shooting is continuing, and the victim’s body has been turned over to forensics for an autopsy. No charges have been filed at this time, he said.

The chief extended thanks to 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this ongoing investigation.
