Pleasant Home has gone on a 16-game winning streaking dating back to December to push the No. 4-ranked Eagles’ varsity boys basketball team into the South Regional tournament for the first time in 14 seasons.
“The last time we made it this far was my senior of high school,” Pleasant Home head coach Troy Turman said. “This is great group of kids here. They have really just learned how to find ways to win.”
Turman said that this group has handled the success well.
“I haven’t really seen a difference in the way they have acted,” Turman said. “They haven’t let it go the their heads. This is a really good group of kids and we have just been trying to prepare them for this the best way that we can.”
The key for the game will be playing their style of basketball, Turman said.
“We have to play our game and not get sucked into what they are going to try to do,” Turman said. “If we can limit our turnovers and hit some shots, I really think we have a chance.”
The Eagles will take Linden today at 4:30 p.m., at the Dothan Civic Center for Class 1A South Regional semi-finals.
